The Story of Bottled Water (2010)

The Story of Bottled Water, released on March 22, 2010 (World Water Day) employs the Story of Stuff style to tell the story of manufactured demand—how you get Americans to buy more than half a billion bottles of water every week when it already flows from the tap. Over five minutes, the film explores the bottled water industrys attacks on tap water and its use of seductive, environmental-themed advertising to cover up the mountains of plastic waste it produces. The film concludes with a call to take back the tap, not only by making a personal commitment to avoid bottled water, but by supporting investments in clean, available tap water for all.

Our production partners on the bottled water film include five leading sustainability groups: Corporate Accountability International, Environmental Working Group, Food & Water Watch, Pacific Institute, and Polaris Institute.

  • Have you ever heard of Flouride poisoning???? infowars.com

    Do NOT drink tap water.

  • people do sell people air

    lol

    go to oxygen bars

  • say "no" to the bottled water i love that

or u can find sota aqua traveler in youtube or facebook

    join us save plaent!!!!

  • I buy five 3-liter jugs of purified tap water a week when I'm at my house in the mountains because there's lead in the house's water system and re-plumbing the house is out of the question. That said, I do enjoy laughing at the hipsters with their Ethos or Smart Water or whatever the hell's "in" these days. Smart water to me is water that won't kill me. If it comes from a tap, so be it. It's not like I pour said jugs over my head in the shower! (and they're recycled locally, too).

  • I totally agree with you that bottled water is wasteful and a source of pollution. However Washington DC had documented lead in its pipes. In order to reduce lead they added an acid to the water supply which Brita admitted their filter is unable to remove. This acid is known cause of kidney damage. So I am back to bottled water after using filters for years......

  • Guys we won't be ever able to throw this system away so we just need to know what happen and go on, futhermore it is not so bad I mean I have studied to live in this system I am industrial engineer.

  • @ultimatecombat You really just proved my point though. You have to swallow more than is used for brushing in order to be poisoned. If you don't believe me, look at the toothpaste article on fluoride alert dot org (who are against water fluoridation).

Notice that it says the average toothpaste for children has 143 mg of fluoride in it. A 9 year old would have to swallow the entire tube for it to be fatal.

  • @ultimatecombat My retarded lol what?

  • @ultimatecombat Water (tap or bottled) is poisonous if you drink too much. For whatever reason, you can't differentiate "poisonous" and "harmful". Clearly the idiot is you.

Your Daily Necessities are killing you slowly.

The Story of Cosmetics, released on July 21st, 2010, examines the pervasive use of toxic chemicals in our everyday personal care products, from lipstick to baby shampoo. Produced with Free Range Studios and hosted by Annie Leonard, the seven-minute film by The Story of Stuff Project reveals the implications for consumer and worker health and the environment, and outlines ways we can move the industry away from hazardous chemicals and towards safer alternatives. The film concludes with a call for viewers to support legislation aimed at ensuring the safety of cosmetics and personal care products.

From youtube...

  • @thekraken23 An allergic reaction is the body's natural way of eliminating toxins and viruses from the body. I don't want to scare anyone into thinking a certain way. I am simply stating my own personal experiences. I am happy, healthier and less stressed than I was using these mainstream personal care products. WebMD is a reliable source for information and they do recommend that you shy away from certain things, such as parabens.

  • @chrisswiss83 what about the lead is unavoidable don't you understand, there is lead in the air you breath you fucking moron

  • even if unsubstantiated my recommendations will save you a ton of money over time and not one is expensive, unless you can afford the calcium bentonite clay, I also gave a free substitute. as I have found, the Lord has already provided us with inexpensive or free solutions in which modern science and economic reasons have attempted to substitute and improve upon to no avail.

  • @SavetheplanetAG no it's true. cadavers today have 400 times the lead from cadavers from the turn of the century. If you can afford calcium bentonite clay get it and take hot baths after excersice. otherwise any kind of clay will work although not as effective. you will notice that you can test higher in standard iq tests afterwards.

  • @thekraken23 Here's some reading comprehension back at you: I'm not ignoring this fact and I never was. I'm not sure why you're even assuming this. I'm glad other people are safe as well despite having a higher exposure to lead, etc. That's very nice. My position is really fucking simple though: no lead is the best amount of lead in anything that lead shouldn't be in. That's it. That's all I'm saying! How is this so hard? Is that a bad position? Should I want more lead?

  • I use ivory soap for washing my hair, and corn starch, baking soda, and coconut oil for deodorant, and hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and salt for my toothpaste. and most showers only wash pits and groin, once weekly or when not got sun for 2 days or after a hot clay bath do I do a straight a full body soapy shower. I also do slow chelation with nuts, cillantro, lemons, and chew wheatgrass, ingest activated charcoal. but the clay baths are needed otherwise the bile will redeposit the metals.

  • @thekraken23 You're right. I can't believe I'm the one who keeps smearing you, oh wise truth-sayer. I keep bringing up how you can't read, you're not thinking critically, you don't care about important things like war and poverty, how you don't think for yourself, and how you deny outright facts that you didn't even bring up. Oh wait, I'm confusing me for you.

  • @smexytbone Lol i cant take u 4 serious after i watched ur Profile! face it girl, im right with what i sayd. Girls play Barbie and dream of get Ken into theyr bed and have a Family with this dickless Loser. Use make up if u dont accept ur naturelylook, but dont accuse the chemical assholes for use cheap ingredients, specially Poison, for make u intentionally ill. So they can earn more money. Become an strong adult, then u will recognize its not ur Job make Men Horny on u.btw i never watch porn

  • Utter BS. This is the same logic Hitler employed in creating his support. Stand up people. Understand that this woman is likely being funded by a bunch of attorneys that stand to make billions off this arguement

  • @Elfkinator Fact high stress levels are linked to cancer and illness more than every product on the market.

Truth behind why most Shampoos are waste of Money !!!

It’s the dirty little secret shampoo companies don’t want you to know—when you wash your hair with one of those nutrient-rich shampoos, most of the nutrients and active ingredients in the product don’t actually end up in your hair, they wind up down the drain… along with all the money you spent on the shampoo.

Why does this happen? Because the shampoo molecules they contain are too large to penetrate the cells of hair and more importantly the tiny hair follicles where our hair actually grows. They sit atop the follicle until we wash them away.

Why is that a problem? Think about it this way—if you wanted to fertilize a plant, where would you pour the fertilizer? On the leaves? Of course not! You’d pour the fertilizer on the root and the soil where it’s needed most. Our hair works basically the same way—if you want to treat your hair right, you need to treat the roots.

But if regular shampoo can’t penetrate the hair follicles where our roots grow, what are we supposed to do?

Fortunately, a California company called Kronos decided to tackle this problem. Their team of researchers designed a more-effective shampoo—one that contains tiny microscopic spheres so small that they penetrate hair follicles and deliver nutrients to where they’re needed most. They call it “T-Sfere Technology”.

Once they had solved the delivery method dilemma, they turned their attention to formulating ingredients that targetted the 5 most significant signs of damaged hair:

1.Thinning hair that lacks volume
2.Dry, frizzy, unmanageable hair
3.Limp lackluster hair
4.Damaged hair with split ends
5.Hair with poor color retention
Does it work? Check out the results from the product’s clinical testing. In a recent study, the Kronos system was shown boost hair volume and body by an unprecedented 96%; increase hair hydration by 91%; improve luster and shine by 96%; reduce split ends and breakage by 96%; and virtually eliminate color fading for up to four weeks. It’s rare that a shampoo can provide so many amazing benefits.

Already, Kronos has quickly become one of the most talked about hair care systems out there. It was recently featured on the Today show and was rated the #1 Overnight Hair Treatment product by The Good Housekeeping Institute.

Since Kronos is still relatively new, the company is offering a limited amount of free trials of its 4-piece introductory kit, just so new customers can see the results for themselves before deciding whether or not they want to pay for their products.

The special trial includes a full, 60-day supply of four products that each feature the line's key ingredient complexes and delivery technology: Kronos Shampoo, Kronos Conditioner, the Phyx Overnight Repair Masque that repairs damaged hair while you sleep, and the Liquid Theory Conditioning Detangler that protects hair from thermal damage due to heat styling.

If you want to try this new way to shampoo, visit the Kronos website to see if these special Internet free trials are still being offered.
