Man had over 100 needles in his body

Liu Lijian, 46, came to casualty complaining of shooting pains. To the astonishment of doctors, when they examined him, they found needles in every part of his body apart from his head.
Scans and X-rays showed that, in his stomach alone, he had 38 needles under his skin.

Now surgeons in Ezhou, eastern China, are to stage a series of delicate operations to remove the objects.

'He says he used to play with needles when he was a child but he can't really remember putting them in his body. It's a miracle they've been there so long without becoming infected,' said a hospital spokesman.
