Russian tourist survives fall from 60-meter high rock

A tourist from St. Petersburg, Russia, remained miraculously alive after jumping into the sea from a 60-meter (197-foot) high rock on the southern coast of the Crimea, RIA Novosti reports.

A 30-year old Russian vacationing at a Black Sea health resort felt suicidal on Friday night and decided to jump into the sea from the observation deck on top of the Aurora rock, site of the popular tourist attraction Lastochkino Gnezdo (Swallow’s Nest), the press service of the Ukrainian Emergency Ministry Crimean department reports.

“Lifeguards from a local rescue station on duty nearby fished the man out of the water,” a source from the Emergency Ministry says.

According to RIA Novosti , the patient is now recovering in the neurosurgery ward in Livadiya Hospital with a concussion and multiple bruises.
